Project Ttitle Heavy Construction Vehicle

Overview: This is a Game Ready Prop Asset to be used in a First Person Shooter in a PC Game within a quarry themed site. It utilises 1 2048 x 2048 32 Bit Targa Texture with Roughness, Normals, Metalness and Ambient Occlusion Maps)

Research /Design: In terms of research i mainly tried to gather as much online references photos to further enhance the existing pool of reference photos i was given. Design stages were predominantly quick and rough pen on paper sketches of complex sections of the Drum Roller. I did this to have a better understanding of the rough geometry of the Model and to problem solve tricky and difficult to enterpret (from the references available) shapes.

The Branding of the Roller was simply a last minute decision of substituing Lebrero a spanish sounding name to an equally spanish sounding name of Llanura, which is a literal translation of "Flatness", it felt Apt.

Feedback to design: I was instructed by Stash to think about the personality of the prop and who may be driving the Vehicle in the Game's World. Objects such as thermas flasks, Teddy Bears hanging somewhere, or other props and tools that may sync with the theme of a quarry such as a hard hat and High Vis Jackets were discussed and pondered. However as I was running out of time i could not implement these design choices into the finished product.

Viewer:  Below i have Attached a 3D Viewer with Sketchfab

Unwrap: I have used two new programes in my arsenal to unwrap and create my UVs; Textools 3DS Max Plugin for easier unwrapping and I have decided to invest in Ipackthat programe to create my UVs. The decision to use Ipackthat was a two fold reason, It mages to pack Omptimized UVs quickly and automatically and because it was coming close to the deadline so haste is of importance.

Textures (Albedo, Alpha, Roughness, Metallic, Normal and Ambient Occlusion)
